China News network on July 14,2022, The National Health Commission held a press conference on Thursday on the progress of community-level medical and health services since the 18th CPC National Congress.By the end of 2021, China had set up nearly 980,000 community-level medical and health institutions, with more than 4.4 million health workers, covering all neighborhoods, communities, towns and villages, said Nie Chunlei, director of the NHC’s basic health department, at the meeting. The sixth Health Services Survey shows that 90 per cent of households can reach the nearest point of health care within 15 minutes.
Nie Chunlei introduced that primary health care is related to the health of hundreds of millions of people. Since the 18th congress, the national health committee to implement the new era of the party’s policy on health and health work, together with the relevant departments, insist on focusing on grass-roots, increase funding at the grass-roots level, to strengthen the construction of infrastructure, improve the operational mechanism at the primary level, the innovation service mode, grassroots disease prevention treatment and health management capabilities continue to improve, positive progress and results.
Nie chunlei said the NHC will follow the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and The State Council, always focus on the community level, and continue to provide better quality and efficient medical and health services to the local people.
